    One of the main functions of an apple watch, is to make sure you are able to have the best fitness experience possible. Once you are wearing it and it is active, it will be able track how much you move, how long you exercise and even how much you stand up. You will be able to monitor how much exercise you have done so that you can stay consistent and stay up to date on your fitness journey. You can even put in your own configurations and have a certain workout planned out for you. This could be anything from biking, swimming or running. On any of these workouts you can keep track of metrics such as your heart rate or speed so you know if you need to slow down or speed up. 

Apple Watch's can also help you maintain your health in other areas so that you are able to stay as fit as possible. It is one of the new forms of technology that allows you to track your sleep. You can create a sleep schedule or even monitor how much REM sleep you are getting which is very important. It can send you health notifications to let you know if something is wrong that you need to have fixed. It even has a mindfulness app that can help you calm your mind and get in touch with your emotions. 

All this enables athletes to perform at their peak performance levels.

  1. I don't think that the apple watch is a must have for modern day athletes, however the benefits you outlined are clearly helpful for athletes. I think many professional teams have their own forms of tracking health metrics in place already, therefore not necessarily needing the Apple Watch. Other brands such as Whoop have proven to be very popular in the health community, showing that there is a necessity for athletes to measure their metrics, I just don't think that the Apple Watch specifically is a must have.

    1. I agree, although an apple watch is by no means necessary, it definitely could be helpful to athletes and enhance their experience while training for their sport. Although there other forms of technology that provide services similar to apple watch. Do you think apple watch is the most popular.

  2. I would have to agree with Thomas, I wouldn't say that the Apple Watch is a must have for modern athletes but I definitely do think that they are very helpful and provide great data. If we are talking strictly about the data that the apple watch provides, there are many other competing products that are much more affordable than the Apple watch. Where the Apple watch has their leg up on the competition is the fact that it has many more uses other than just health and fitness. I wouldn't say it's a must have but if you have it or have the ability to get one, it definitely can be a great tool for athletes.
